Back in 2016, something wasn't right. People were getting banned on Instagram and Facebook for posting bikini photos, fitness content, and yes—sexy selfies. Even innocent beach photos could get your account suspended. Meanwhile, the same platforms allowed ads with far more revealing content.
The message was clear: You can be sexy, but only if we profit from it.
That hypocrisy drove me to create Sexy Selfies—a platform where you control your content, you profit from it, and you decide what's appropriate for your audience.
Founded Sexy Selfies with a simple mission: give people a platform where they can post sexy content without arbitrary censorship or bans. A place where confidence, body positivity, and self-expression are celebrated, not punished.
Built and launched the first version as a native iOS app on Apple's App Store. Users loved it. Creators were making money. Things were looking up.
Lost funding. Then COVID hit. OnlyFans went viral and dominated the market. We were too early, too small, too broke to compete with their marketing budget.
Made the strategic decision to pivot to a responsive web-based MERN platform. Why? To avoid paying 30% fees to Apple or Android, reach users on any device, and maintain full control over the platform without app store restrictions.
Attempted to use Scrile Connect (a white-label OnlyFans clone), but their UX was terrible, UI was rigid, and it was expensive. I realized: If I want it done right, I have to build it myself.
Went back to university and got my degree in Full-Stack MERN Development. Learned MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js. Studied UX, UI, payment systems, security, scalability—everything needed to build a modern web platform.
Rebuilt Sexy Selfies from the ground up using the MERN stack. Every line of code written with creators and members in mind. No investors to please. No board demanding we "maximize revenue." Just a founder who believes in the mission.
Relaunched 3 months ago. And this time, we're here to stay.
